Our Program

IWED Global has partnered with the North American Academy of Wedding & Event Planning to offer the Certificate in Wedding Planning.  This comprehensive and interactive course is broken into 16 modules and will equip you with the skills and knowledge you need to successfully plan and manage weddings along with other social celebrations, including; baby showers, anniversary, birthday, engagement and bachlorette parties.

Section 1: The Anatomy of An Event

In this unit we cover the basics of event hardware, fabrics & basic room draping & backdrops.

Module 1: The World of Events

In this module, we introduce you to the exciting world of events you are going to be entering and exactly what an event is. We will also outline the traits you are going to need to be a successful Event Planner.  In this module, we will cover;

Module 2: Think Like a Planner

In order to think like a Planner, you need to be organised, be able to set priorities and goals for yourself and manage your time.  In this module, we are going to help you to develop these essentials skills and more. In this module, we will cover;

  • Timelines
  • Setting up your Work Space

Module 3: Creating a Concept

In this module, you will learn how to create an Event Concept.  This module covers; 

  • Firting with the five senses
  • Developing the concept
  • The 5 C’s of Event Design
  • The 5 ways to kill an idea 
  • The creative process 

You will also learn brainstorming techniques and we share a very simple process for creativity.

Module 4: Developing a Theme

Learn the secrets of how event management companies come up with new and creative event themes, dreams and scenes and discuss why themes and concepts so critical to your events.  You will learn how to;

  • Choose a theme
  • Design inspiration boards
  • Research your theme
  • Use your surroundings for inspiration  

 We share our secrets of ‘telling the story’ of your event and how to create that Wow factor by creating new and innovative event themes.

Module 13: Suppliers & Staff

Your Vendors and your Staff are a crucial element of every event and in this module, we are going to

Module 14: Preparing the Event

It is one thing to plan a flawless event, but it is quite another to choreograph it. In this module, we will

Module 15: Running the Event & Post Event Evaluation
